West Virginia Governor Jim Justice has approved a bill to make it easier for Medicaid recipients to get dentures.
The bill will raise the Medicaid dental coverage cap to $2,000 over two years starting July 1. This change will let recipients get both sets of dentures at the same time, aligning with standard dental care.
Previously, the $1,000 annual cap prevented Medicaid recipients from getting both sets at once. The state's Senate and House of Delegates both passed the legislation.
Hallie Mason, executive director of the West Virginia Dental Association, praised the governor and Legislature for addressing the issue, saying it could lead to dentists offering more comprehensive care to Medicaid patients.

Why not give some benefits to MEDICARE recipients? Standard Medicare does not cover any dental or vision care; nothing. The only way to get coverage is to buy a supplement plan. Most ppl can't afford supplement coverage and go without for many years. Most ppl on Medicare are of retirement age, on disability, have health issues, etc and are in the poverty bracket. Medicare is the only form of income these ppl have bc not everyone qualifies for medicaid. They say ppl make too much thru Medicare to get Medicaid, Food stamps,etc....now that's funny!
