Hailing from the familiar WVU recruiting grounds of Canton, Ohio, Harris averaged 3.7 points and 2.1 rebounds in 14.5 minutes per game for the Illini in the 2022-23 season. He redshirted last season, reportedly to focus on improving his strength to better compete on the college level.
Harris had 29 assists, 21 turnovers and 27 steals in his one season on the court with Illinois.
Harris helped St.Vincent-St.Mary’s to back-to-back Ohio Division II state championships, averaging 20.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 3.8 steals as a senior while earning Cleveland.com player of the year honors. He tallied 14.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.2 steals and 3.1 assists as a junior on the way to the first of the two state championships.
As a top 100 national prospect, he was recruited to Illinois by assistant coach Chester Frazier, who was recently hired by WVU head coach Darian DeVries as the Mountaineers’ associate head coach.
